Every Energie AGM battery already includes a one-year manufacturer's warranty when purchased direct from Reikken.com. This Extended Warranty doubles that coverage — giving you a full two years of protection against manufacturer defects.
Adds one additional year to the standard one-year manufacturer's warranty.
The extended warranty covers manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship. If a warranty claim is approved, a replacement battery will be sent based on available inventory in Texas. The purchaser is responsible for return shipping costs.
Must be purchased at the same time as your Energie battery — up to 10 days after the original purchase date. Does not cover damage during shipment. If your battery arrives damaged, please contact us immediately at support@reikken.com and take several dated photos of the shipping box and battery from multiple angles.

What's Not Covered
- Terminal Post Stripping or Over-Torquing: Over-tightening heavy-gauge (1/0 or 2/0 AWG) ring terminals onto the battery posts, which strips the threads or breaks the internal lead welds connecting the post to the internal cell plates.
- Improper Mounting / Lack of Tie-Downs: Failing to secure the battery properly, allowing it to bounce or vibrate excessively in the trunk or engine bay.
- Modified or Drilled Casings: Altering the battery case, modifying the terminals, or drilling into the plastic to mount custom buss bars or distribution blocks.
1. Electrical & Charging Neglect
Car audio systems often use custom charging setups that can easily damage an AGM battery. The following conditions may void the warranty:
- Alternator/Voltage Overcharging: AGM batteries are highly sensitive to charge voltage. Exceeding 14.8 to 15.0 volts (common with unregulated high-output alternators or lithium-mix dual setups) can damage the electrolyte. Evidence: Bulging or swelling of the plastic battery case, or a strong sulfur/rotten-egg odor.
- Improper Charger Profile (Lithium/Gel Settings): Using a smart charger set to a "Lithium" or high-voltage "Gel" profile, or using a non-intelligent charger that doesn't drop to a float charge.
- Deep Discharging (Below 10.5 Volts): Dropping the resting open-circuit voltage below 10.5V causes permanent sulfation that destroys capacity. Evidence: Running audio systems with the engine off until the system shuts down due to low voltage.
- Parasitic Audio Drain: Improperly wired amplifiers, digital capacitors, or DSPs that do not shut off with the ignition, leaving a continuous draw that completely drains the battery over days of non-use.
2. Thermal & Environmental Abuse
High-power audio systems generate significant heat, both from amplifiers and from rapid energy draw on the battery.
- Excessive Ambient Heat Exposure: Mounting the battery directly next to a turbocharger, manifold, or inside an unventilated engine bay enclosure without a thermal shield.
- Internal Thermal Runaway: Drawing large amounts of current continuously without allowing the battery to rest, causing internal plates to overheat and expand.
- Case Expansion/Swelling: Any physical distortion or bulging of the outer case walls is typically indicative of overcharging or internal thermal stress rather than a manufacturing defect.
3. Mechanical & Installation Neglect
Car audio builds frequently involve custom fabrication, heavy wiring, and tight spaces. Proper installation and securing of batteries is essential to maintain warranty coverage.
